Happy New Wine Year 2018!
Dear colleagues and friends of wine,
We would like to extend our wishes to you for a Happy New Year in 2018, and express our pleasure at the fact that we can accompany it once more with our wines!
And the wines themselves are as diversified in personality as those connoisseurs who enjoy them: bearing the mark of the vintage as well as that of the soils in the individual vineyards – not to mention the cast of characters working at the estate who accompany them with devotion along their way from vineyard to bottle maturity. The best vineyard sites, keen attention and focus, creativity and concern for quality and service that goes far beyond the production – that is what makes our estate what it is. To offer you new surprises and delights remains a motivating factor for us in the New Year.
The 2017 vintage blessed us with good quality, and while many of the wines are still maturing at the cellar in Trausdorf, a few are already set for delivery. Prinz & Prinzessin Rosé, Chardonnay Classic and Grüner Veltliner offer an outstanding impression of the new vintage.
Red wines from the 2016 vintage in the Classic series are currently available – fruit-forward representatives of our house style with plenty of structure that go down easy. Also ready: the Leithaberg DAC Chardonnay 2016, Leithaberg DAC Blaufränkisch 2015 and the two single-vineyard Blaufränkers from the vineyards Ried Schildten and Ried Föllig, rated in the 90-points-range by USA magazine Wine Enthusiast.
The undisputed top wine at Esterhazy winery is our 2012 Tesoro, a cuvée of 80% Blaufränkisch and 20% Merlot, an A La Carte Magazin Grand Cru winner, and with this vintage once more on the wine lists and in the cellars of all those who love the distinctive in wine. Tesoro is from now on available in an elegant wooden presentation case, as well as an eye-catching premier package wrapped in white tissue paper, in order to underscore the intrinsic value of this internationally lauded wine.
Please join us as we present our wines from these exceptional and traditional vineyard sites in Leithaberg, to taste them and enjoy them, whether at En Primeur in Bordeaux or Eisenstadt in April, at the trade fair ProWein in March in Düsseldorf – or at one of numerous opportunities at the estate, presentations at venues close to you, or perhaps at one of Esterhazy’s diversified cultural offerings – always in the company of our dedicated team from cellar and sales.
We wish you a prosperous year in 2018 – may our wines add to the sum of your success, and enrich your joyful moments in the coming year!
Stefan Tscheppe & your wine team
